1890s Strychnine Rx

Strychnine is wildly known as a lethal poison. 

Strychnine was prescribed as a stimulant for increasing appetite and inducing muscle and bowel contractions 

A lethal dose of strychnine causes seizures, asphyxiation and paralyzation. It's now only used in outdoor rodent killers.
